The Truth Behind Dialer Telephony Rates

LiveVox data reveals most collection organizations lack telephony capacity to reach consumers and keep agents productive. Industry answer rates reveal organizations need at least seven lines-per-agent for dialers and at least 20 lines-per-agent for Right-Party Scripting Campaigns. No one likes the large upfront costs for dialer capacity, but companies then expect on-going telecom rates will be low. Unfortunately this is not the case.

The per-minute cost of legacy dialers is much higher than anticipated. Use the grid below to compare your true per-minute rate to the unlimited dialing capacity of LiveVox.

LiveVox Data shows that QuickConnect and Traditional Dialer Campaigns need at least 7 lines per agent. Right-Party Scripting campaigns need upwards of 20.

This is the cost often quoted by prospects and customers as their long distance rate. There may or may not be minimum billing increments that drive it up higher.

This captures taxes, loop charges and intralata charges. They generally add $.006 to the Headline LD Cost

T-1's contain 23 usable lines. Cost varies from a low of $200 to as much as $800 per month.

Cost of the T-1 is divided by 23 to get a per line cost. This is then divided by 5,000 connected minutes. Connected minutes run through a line is between 3,000 and 5,000. This calculation takes the conservative position.

This simply shows the cost per line multiplied by the number of lines per agent.

This adds up the line costs plus the headline LD rate and the additional LD costs.

At $1,000 per seat per year, this equates to $.0167 per minute.

Total cost of variable telephony plus dialer maintenance. This does not include the capital expense for the dialer.

  • Adding Additional Lines to a Permised Dialer requires expense card and port upgrades. These cost are not factored to this simple spreadsheet.
  • In a 7-Line Scenario, used for QuickConnect type campaigns, LD could be free, and the cost of operating the permised dialer would be higher than LiveVox Charges on volume.
  • In a 20-Line Scenario, ideal for Right-Party Scripting, the variables costs of permised dialers are more than twice what LiveVox charges on volume.
